Lewis Parker “The Unseen Trap” 10″
I put off picking this one up for so long just because, well it’s a 10″ and only available over seas which would really be an expensive 10″ purchase if you did the math. And sometimes if you’re lucky and wait long enough like I did, a record like this will eventually turn up in your local shop anyway. Depending on label and distribution of course. So I finally picked this one up today for a reasonable price and I was happy to finally land a copy of Lewis Parker’s latest wax. The record comes in a dope cover drawn in pencil art and fashioned after those blaxploitation soundtracks and posters from the 60s and 70s. Here you’ll find three songs produced by and featuring Lewis Parker with John Robinson. I’ve always been a huge fan of his production more than Lewis as an MC.- I mean Lewis Parker has always been a great producer and constructor of beats. And this time he does a really nice job of recreating mood music with an old movie soundtrack feel that will remind you of vintage chase scenes and all around Shaft style ruckus. Instrumentals on the flip side. Highly recommended.
